I think I already opened this topic somewhere. IF so, please forgive me. You know what an airhead I am. stars LOL!

Anyway, after obsessing over it for months I have finally decided on getting the Kindle from Amazon. It should be en route right now, and, honestly, I can't wait! yes  I've been downloading books already!

I confess that I am enjoying the hell out of the ebooks. I am a book ho.  I have the Kindle for PC on every computer, including my netbook, on my ipod Touch, and am anxiously awaiting Amazon's app for the Blackberry.  It's incredible to me to be able to whip out (fill in bit of technology here) anywhere and read.  It automatically bookmarks your page and syncs up all your other devices when you stop, too.

Anyone else considering an ereader?  Which one and why?

I'd love to have one, but I can't afford it right now. Maybe my one treat when I get my big(ger) check next month. I'd love a Kindle.

But then, I'd spend a lot of money on books (more than I do already, I mean)  grin3

I am prepared to recommend the Kindle absolutely.  I am in LOVE with this thing.

It is handy, easy to hold, perfect size for tossing in ur handbag yet screen is big enough to see clearly (about the same size as a paperback book page) plus you can adjust the text size for old eyes. thumbsup

But the two things that sold me are: 1) you can get books anywhere in the world that ATT 3g network covers. (With the others, you need WiFi) and 2) the books are at Amazon's LOW prices.  A brand new bestseller is 9 bucks. You can't beat that.

My only complaint is that it is TOO EASY to order books!  OMG!  I have an obscene queue of books waiting 2 B read on my Kindle right now! dizzy2

I want one SOOO bad, but a house and a car come first.  whip

My one holdback (besides the aforementioned) is that DH and I would be fighting over it (we share most books). Blue, tell me more about this Kindle for PC thing. If we can access the same books for all over and not sync ALL of them up (so DH and I can read the same ebook on different machines at the same time) maybe I can convince him.... wink3

Tink,  I have the Kindle, then I have the Kindle software/app on my iPod touch, my Netbook, and my PC. It's very easy to NOT sync all the devices so you can be at different spots in the same book.

I understand the fighting-over-it thing though.  I just bought this iPod Touch and I love it so much that I bought Bodog one. I'm seriously considering buying him his own Kindle with my next cheque.  He wants to play with my erotic hardware electronics when **I** wanna play with them!  LOL!

If you have more than 1 kindle, can you swap the books back and forth?

I'm considering sending one to afghanistan with DH.

According to usatoday you can: You can share books on up to five Kindles with the same account, and through another new feature, keep them in sync. You cannot share magazine subscriptions across devices.

we decided he can use kindle on the computer, and I might get myself one, but we don't want a brand new one ruined in the desert, so he will have to wait. LOL

I'm fixin' to get the new Kindle DX (the big one) so Bodog can use my old one.  Sharing one does NOT work for us since I read on mine all day every day.

I'm going to try to get an iPad next year  thumbsup and I'm anxious to see how the kindle app looks on that. It works v. well on the iPod iPhone!
