I almost always give books to expecting mothers, either new or used, whether it's a baby shower gift or a congratulations. Looking back over the years I don't think I've ever babysat a child that was awake that I didn't read a story to, unless they were old enough to read themselves, and picked a book of mine or theirs to read. That's just what we do! So getting books and bookmobiles out to communities just seems like the right thing to do. Instilling a love of literature in kids beats the hell out of Saturday morning cartoons any day!
